How to create a consistent social media presence
Consistency is one of those buzzwords that … the cornerstone of a good social media presence.
Be consistent in your visual identity
Be consistent in your messaging
Be consistent with your audience
Your messaging and visual identity should be consistent across all your accounts. By having a cohesive presence you ensure each platform is in line with your core messaging and having the greatest impact on your audience.
Developing an online ‘voice’ that reflects your persona (or that of your brand) makes it much easier to stay on message. You can make slight adjustments to fit the tone of the specific platform but your online persona shouldn’t waver.
Small changes you can make to improve cohesiveness across all accounts:
Use the same profile picture across your accounts. This will help your audience recognise you wherever they find you.
Create a short but punchy bio that you can use across multiple accounts. If needed, have a shorter alternative version (same messaging!) that you can use for accounts with a more limited wordcount.
Have the same CTAs across your accounts. Whatever your current goal is, you want your entire audience encouraged to act for maximum impact.
